Event Overview

New graduate hiring demands significant investment in Japan, and national data confirms that new hire turnover remains a persistent challenge. How can businesses mitigate this entry-level hiring risk and proactively ensure a strong long-term talent fit?

This event explores Startup Internships as the strategic solution. They act as an accelerated, low-risk way to build a reliable talent pipeline and foster deep, mutual growth for everyone involved.

For Founders: This internship journey is a direct investment that provides critical foresight. You gain crucial market insights from working directly with youth, especially valuable for educational or young-targeted businesses, and provide invaluable leadership development by mentoring and training future talent.

For Students: This is your chance for accelerated career growth. You work directly with founders and leadership, contribute to key business decisions, and gain invaluable real-world experience before starting your job search. Your contribution helps shape the future of the business.

This is our last in-person event in Tokyo for the year! Come join us for an insightful conversation where founders and interns will share their unique journeys and expectations. Let's celebrate the end of a productive year and cheer for a new one ahead!

Guest Introduction

Speaker 1: Leonid Posadskov, CEO, Luminari Inc.

Leonid Posadskov is the Founder and CEO of Luminari Inc., a Japan-based security-first advisory bureau. His work explores how education, design, and interactive systems can reshape the way organizations think about security. With a background in AI architecture and strategy consulting, he focuses on translating complex technical and behavioral challenges into clear, experience-driven learning that builds real understanding and accountability.

Topic: Siminari – Modernizing Security Education Through Gamification

Much of today’s security education still treats people like checklists. Courses explain what to do, but rarely why it matters or how decisions feel under real pressure. Siminari, developed by Luminari Inc., takes a different approach—using interactive, story-driven scenarios to connect rules with experience. This talk explores where traditional methods fall short, what we’ve learned from rebuilding them, and how understanding behavior leads to lasting awareness.

Speaker 2: Alejandro Pascual, CEO, Boksen

Alejandro Pascual is the founder and CEO of Boksen, a Tokyo-based startup building AI-driven marketing systems. Having lived in Mexico, China, Korea, Luxembourg and Japan and now fluent in eleven languages, he blends business development experience with a cross-cultural insight. His work focuses on helping companies reclaim time through practical AI, and he is known for his no-nonsense communication style and commitment to his mission of helping people regain their most valuable currency: time.

Topic: The Best Internship in the World (No, Seriously)

Most internships at big companies turn students into furniture. You sit in a corner, touch tasks no one will ever read again, and spend three months learning only office politics (at best). Boksen is the opposite. Interns work directly with the founder, learn to build real software in as little as one day, attend and present in live customer meetings, and even join business trips. The work is no-nonsense, hands-on, and brutally educational. If you want an internship that actually upgrades your life, this is the one.

Speaker 3: Liam Persad, Web Development Intern, alliz

Liam Persad is a fourth-year Computer Science student at Temple University Japan, currently interning as a Web Development Intern at alliz. In this role, he contributes to expanding the alliz platform and developing features that enhance user experience. Liam is passionate about exploring new areas of web development, particularly front-end technologies. Outside of his professional interests, he enjoys writing music and immersing himself in video games.

Topic: From Classroom to Workplace: Leadership Lessons at alliz

In this presentation, Liam will delve into how his internship at alliz has reshaped his understanding of leadership. He will explore the transition from an academic environment, which encouraged initiative and independence, to a real-world team setting, and how he learned to effectively apply new leadership skills. This experience has provided him with a fresh perspective on success, evolving from a theoretical understanding of leadership to actively making a meaningful impact in the workplace.
