Event Overview

Campus Talk is an initiative that connects university students with experienced industry mentors to help them explore career paths and take charge of their professional development early on.

Our upcoming event, "GitHub Essential Workshop", is the fourth in the Campus Talk series. In this interactive session, students will learn about the Github Development Lifecycle and gain essential collaborative skills early on, picking up valuable insights on how to build portfolios that showcase their experience.

Exclusive to Temple University Japan Campus students and hosted in collaboration with the Computer Science department, this workshop is designed to be accessible to all majors curious about the tech industry. No prior coding experience is required—just come ready to learn and build!

Mentor/Instructor Introduction

Junko Fujiwara, Director of Customer Success, Microsoft Japan

Director in Microsoft’s Success Unit, leading Cloud Solution Architects. Former GitHub professional and Microsoft software engineering manager who developed Microsoft products and supported developers. Specializes in AI-driven DevOps, GitHub for enterprise software development, and cloud transformation. Advocate for women in STEM.

Workshop Introduction

GitHub Essential Workshop: WS01 Learn the GitHub Development Lifecycle

This is a 10-part hands-on workshop series to learn GitHub from basics to practical workflows. Each workshop will take 60 minutes and combine a short lecture with hands-on exercises.

In this first workshop, you will experience the full GitHub development cycle from start to finish. You will understand how Repository, Issue, Branch, Pull Request, and GitHub Actions connect together, and get hands-on practice completing the entire development flow. No coding skills are required, but participants should complete the environment setup before the workshop.

Important Information

Fee and registration: This event will be held in English and is free to participate. The total participants is up to 35. It is exclusive to the Temple University Japan Campus students, and therefore not open to public registration.

Photography: Event photos and videos will be taken and may be used for promotional purposes on alliz’s website, social media, and event announcements, with participants’ permission.
